First annual NCVLA's shine the spotlight on student leaders

The Centre for Student Engagement and Leadership hosted the first annual Niagara College Volunteer and Leadership awards (NCVLA’s) on Friday, March 20. With almost 120 students and staff in attendance, the night celebrated student excellence and the accomplishments of student volunteers and leaders at an awards gala at Riverstone Event Centre in Welland.

Seven Knights earn All-Canadian awards

Tuesday, March 24 saw the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) announce the 2014-15 CCAA Academic All-Canadian award recipients. This year saw seven members of the Niagara College Knights earn the prestigious accolade including Lorelle Weavers (Golf), Nicole Forbes (Soccer), Jackie Lawther (Soccer), Bailey Cochrane (Volleyball), Aaron Vanderlugt (Volleyball), Steve Stone (Volleyball), and Lucy McLay (Volleyball).

Niagara Knights to host high school girls' volleyball showcase March 26

The inaugural Niagara Region Volleyball Showcase, featuring 27 of the top senior girls from high schools throughout the Niagara Region will take place Thursday, March 26 at the Niagara College Athletic Centre in Welland, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The showcase event, presented by the Niagara College women's volleyball program, was created to promote the sport and to give high school teammates a chance to compete against one another for bragging rights.

Lots to discover at NC's Spring Open House March 28

Niagara College will open the doors of its Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake Campuses March 28, giving students, parents and the community an opportunity to experience the College’s programs, services and unique learning environments first hand.

The annual Spring Open House event takes place at both campuses from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and features information sessions, interactive displays and exhibits, tours, kids’ activities, live entertainment and more.

Don't miss SickPix 2015 on March 27

The Niagara College Digital Photography program will host its annual SickPix photography competition awards night Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Applied Health Auditorium.

The event offers students, staff and the public an opportunity to see exceptional student photography which will be adjudicated by a panel of guest judges. 

Admission is free.
